Salary Growth in Foreign-Invested Enterprises

In 2025, the average monthly salary of employees working in foreign-invested enterprises in Mongolia reached ₮3,939,115, representing a 13.72% increase compared to the same period last year.

The number of employers increased from 789 to 1,355, a 71.8% rise, reflecting the active participation of newly established and small-to-medium foreign-invested companies entering the Mongolian market, and indicating the expansion of the business ecosystem.

Breaking down employees by the economic sector in which they work:

Mining and Quarrying: 12,598 employees (29.11%)

Manufacturing: 8,047 employees (18.59%)

Wholesale and Retail Trade: 6,452 employees (14.93%)

Transportation and Warehousing: 4,668 employees (10.79%)

Information and Communication: 2,085 employees (4.82%)

Other sectors: 9,416 employees (21.76%)

Approximately half of insured employees are concentrated in mining and manufacturing, highlighting these sectors’ continued capacity to attract foreign investment and strong labor demand in the market.

The average monthly salary of ₮3.9 million per employee contributes to:

Expanding a skills-based labor market,

Shifting toward high-productivity, specialized job structures, and

Ultimately contributing to economic growth.

This growth also indicates that foreign-invested enterprises are increasingly focusing their human resource policies on concentrating competitive talent within compact teams and creating jobs that require high skills and expertise.
