WEIDE PROJECT “SUPPORTING WOMEN EXPORTERS IN ELECTRONIC ECONOMY”

“Supporting Women Exporters in the Digital Economy” (WEIDE) Project

The Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the World Trade Organization and the International Trade Centre, has established a National Advisory Committee under the “Supporting Women Exporters in the Digital Economy” (WEIDE) project and successfully held its inaugural meeting.

The Committee aims to increase the participation of women entrepreneurs in e-commerce and exports in Mongolia, improve coordination of policy and financial support, and strengthen public–private sector collaboration.

Members of the National Advisory Committee include representatives such as Ms. Zandan, Head of the Investment and Trade Agency; Ms. Saruul, Secretary General of MNCCI; Mr. Davaabayar, Advisor to the “Food Revolution” National Program; Ms. Baigalmaa, Director of SME Banking Division at Golomt Bank; Ms. Regzedmaa, SME Banking Manager at Khan Bank; and Ms. Saruul, CEO of Bogd Bank, among others.

During the first meeting, participants discussed the project’s objectives and progress, challenges faced by Mongolian women exporters in e-commerce and accessing international markets, access to finance, capacity-building needs, and identified priorities for future cooperation.

Going forward, the Committee will play a key role in developing and implementing practical recommendations to enhance women entrepreneurs’ participation in the digital economy and expand export opportunities.

Digital skills

Access to international markets

Networking and business linkages

Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC)

Under the WEIDE Fund program launched in 2024, a total of 307 applications were received from women-led businesses in Mongolia, of which 46 were selected. Among them, 26 received Booster grants (USD 30,000 each) and 20 received Discovery grants (USD 5,000 each).
