Deputy Prime Minister

DORJKHAND TOGMID

Mr. Dorjkhand Togmid serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, overseeing investment, trade, procurement, and energy reform. He has been a member of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia since 2020 and is the leader of the HUN Party, one of the country’s three major political parties. Before entering Parliament, Mr. Dorjkhand held key positions in both national and international financial institutions. He served as the Head of Department at the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia and later as an advisor to the Executive Director for the Asia-Pacific region at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the United States.

Functions of the divisions of the Investment and Trade Agency

Investment promotion division

The Investment promotion division works to increase domestic and foreign investment and improve the investment environment by providing investors with necessary information, advisory support and government services in a timely and accessible manner. It also works to protect the rights and legitimate interests of investors, address their concerns and challenges and expand investment cooperation.

Trade promotion division

The Trade promotion division implements policies and measures aimed at increasing Mongolia’s export capacity and competitiveness, supporting domestic production and reducing excessive dependence on imports. It works to facilitate trade, reduce trade barriers, ensure the implementation of international trade agreements and arrangements and provide support to businesses.

Information and Communications division

The Information and communications division is responsible for the development of the Agency’s information and communications systems, digital services and information technology. It supports the digitalization of the Agency’s operations, introduces new technologies and artificial intelligence, ensures information security and consolidates and processes information and statistics. The Department also ensures that information about the Agency’s activities and services is delivered to the public in an open, timely and accessible manner.

Administration division

The Administration division organizes administrative, human resources, budgeting, financial and internal management activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Agency. It works to strengthen the capacity and performance of civil servants and ensures effective coordination, monitoring and accountability across the Agency’s operations.
